This FTGFOP1 (Finest Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe grade 1) Assam Panitola has an unusual pine-needle shaped leaf and lots of tips. The infusion is medium dark, and the taste is soft and medium-strong with a slightly malty aftertaste. An excellent Assam tea.

The Origin of Assam
Assam is the largest tea growing area in the world, where 2,000 gardens can produce almost 450,000 tons of tea each year. Assam tea accounts for about 55 per cent of India's total annual production. Assam is a vast and beautiful area of dense forests and open rolling plains through which the mighty Brahmaputra river runs, carrying rich fertile soil down from the mountains of Tibet to the agricultural plains. Exceptionally high rainfall (sometimes exceeding 10m in just one season) produces a very humid environment comparable to being inside a vast greenhouse - consequently the plants thrive, producing a tea which is very different to Darjeeling.

From Leaf to Cup in 4 Steps
Add loose leaf
Place 1-2 heaped tsp of tea in an infuser.
Add hot water
Use freshly poured hot water at the temperature required for your tea (75-100C)
Steep as required
Use the brewing guide on the label to determine the correct infusion time
Remove infuser
Savour the taste and check to see if your tea can be re-steeped

Lovely tea. Assam is my favourite tea, and there are so many varieties. The Panitila is beautiful, and malty, and. An be enjoyed at all times of the day.
I have been a customer of Char Teas for many years, and am fortunate to be just short bicycle ride away from the shop. I have over ten teas on the go at any one time, just to enjoy the variety.
