Tea from India

Discover More About Indian Tea

Behind China, India is the second largest producer of tea in the world - with over 70% of domestic tea being consumed within India itself. Due to the enormous land mass of the country, you can expect a wide ranging variation of different teas including; Darjeeling, Assam, Nilgiri, Kangra, Munnar and so much more.

Darjeeling Tea

Most Indian teas are named after the regions in which they are produced, this includes Darjeeling. This tea is grown at the highest elevation in the world, ranging from heights of 600 to 2,000 metres above sea level. This, combined with the average rainfall of over 300cm, makes for the perfect environment for growing tea plants.

Grown in the foothills of the Himalayas, Darjeeling is known to be the 'Champagne of Teas' and is a personal favourite of tea lovers around the world.

Assam Tea

A black tea also named after its region of production, Assam Tea is known for its malty flavour, and strong, bright colour. Assam tea is perfect for drinkers looking to get that morning boost - improving energy and increasing mental alertness.
