Our Bancha Green Tea is made from the tea leaves of the tea bush after the Sencha harvest and has a unique, mildly grassy flavour. These leaves are significantly larger and harder and therefore more resistant to insect attack, so the plant no longer protects them with high amounts of caffeine. Bancha is very digestible as a result. The tea is traditionally drunk with meals in Japan. It is considered a classic everyday green tea.
What is Bancha tea?
The large and impressively green leaves of Bancha are taken from the lower shoots of the tea plant. They are rich in minerals, but contain up to 70% less caffeine than Gyokuro teas. The resulting Bancha tea taste is soft and slightly grassy.

BREWING GUIDE
From Leaf to Cup in 4 Steps
Add loose leaf
Place 1–2 tsp of tea in the glass infuser basket.
Pour hot water
Fill the teapot with water just off the boil (80–95°C).
Steep & watch
Steep for 2–5 minutes and watch the tea unfurl
Remove & enjoy
Lift out the infuser to stop brewing. Pour and savour.
